The Location - Big Wave is a tastefully furnished large family home in a fantastic and very convenient part of Nelson Bay. Located in a quiet street with Shoal Bay Beach just a 300m walk in one direction and Little Beach 900m in the other direction. The Boathouse restaurant offers fine dining on the water as well as a bar and tapas. Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay are less than 2km drive, there you will find interesting and enjoyable establishments including a Sunday market, cafes, restaurants, entertainment and diverse, fun land and water-based activities.

The house - Ideal for the extended family (Maximum 8 Adults only) this two storey home offers modern furnishings, ducted air conditioning and ceiling fans. The ground level offers a versatile floor plan with open plan dining, living and kitchen area and is complemented by an entertainment deck. The lounge area boasts a leather suite and wall-mounted TV, the beautiful well-equipped kitchen includes a charming window splashback, breakfast bar with stools, and a dishwasher. The dining area completes this space and features a large wooden dining table and chairs (there is also a high chair for our younger guest). The covered entertainment timber deck has outdoor furnishings and a BBQ with a lovely large fenced yard. Also on the ground level is a second living area and the master bedroom complete with a queen size bed, built-in robes and an ensuite with a shower. A separate powder room is also located on this level.

Upstairs meets the demands of family life, boasting a third living area with flat-screen TV and doors leading out to a balcony. Here you will also find a second dining area with a kitchenette. There are four other bedrooms, three offer queen-sized beds with the fifth bedroom fitted with two sets of bunk beds. The main bathroom offers a shower, bath, vanity and toilet.

Other features to this great home is an internal laundry with a front loading washing machine, a lock-up garage and a flat driveway for extra parking.

There are definitely smoke detectors at this property.

  4 nights at Shoal Bay
  Final payment was taken from my Visa card 2 days early without any prior notification.
  The day before our stay we received notification that we could have early check in. When we attended the Winning Holiday office at Nelson Bay at 1.30pm to collect the key we were informed that check in was not to 2pm. I said to the staff that we had received a message we could check in early. The staff then requested to see this message and stated they would be changing this in future. I found this rude and very unwelcoming. I will not be booking with you again.

  My friends and we were looking forward to staying in the beautiful property during the pandemics time but we were very disappointed when we checked in as we needed to do a at least 1 hour cleaning before we settle in this beautiful house. I even needed to wipe the blood off outside the toilet bowl, which is disgusting for me. I forgot to take a pic before I cleaned it. I am sure that We paid for cleaning but we are not happy how the cleaning conditions left for us as we need to stay here for 3 nights.I emailed, called up the management office and even went up to the office in person. But none from the management team got back to me at all since then.

  Wonderful and spacious house. Lots of room for a big family. Only things we had an issue was with the hot water running out and also the coffee machine was not clean at all so could not use it. If they fixed those two things this property would be great for a long stay.
