The Location - The Dunes is situated in an ideal location just opposite National Park which offers a lovely reserve with bike tracks, playground, picnic tables, BBQ's, boat ramp, surf club and eateries (Saltwater restaurant and Longboat Cafe). Then hidden behind the reserve is the fabulous Fingal Bay Beach, only 100m from unit! This beach offers a pristine white beach and clear waters, the beach is patrolled offering safe swimming, surfing, fishing and kayaking. Fingal Bay Beach has its own island connected by a sand-spit, The spit at the north end links Fingal Island to the mainland, on low tide you can walk across to the island (with caution) to visit the Fingal lighthouse and the amazing views it offers. Fingal Bay has an abundance of bush tracks to discover with 20 kilometres of rocky coastline ideal for bush walking, fishing and exploring with guests who stay between May and November having a good chance of spotting humpback whales from Barry Park. Shoal Bay is approx 2km away and the township of Nelson Bay is 5km away.

The Unit - This spacious, well presented two bedroom unit is located in the perfect position for you! The Dunes complex is directly across the road from the Fingal Bay Surf Club and patrolled beach and features a pool and full tennis court for the convenience of all guests. On arrival park in the undercover parking area with a single lock up garage (5a).

Open plan living and dining area opens out to a private balcony and original condition kitchen is well equipped. The bathroom is recently renovated and has a bath and walk in shower.

Fingal Bay has a service station, bakery/take-away (convenience store) and bottle shop and is only approx.7 minute drive to the CBD of Nelson Bay!

    Location was great just across from the beach. Great to have a lock up garage to put the car and bike. It was clean and tidy when we arrived however, some of the cutlery needed cleaning before use. Linen supplied was very clean and fresh.
    The unit has plenty of room but rather 1980’s, during the wet weather the carpet and lounge gave were a little smelly, needs a steam clean possibly.

    Clean, comfortable 2br apartment directly across the road from Fingal Bay beach. Sizeable balcony, equipped with bbq and access to tennis court and pool. Perfect getaway.

    We were well aware of the property we were renting having stayed there on a number of previous occasions.
    5/38 Marine Drive still lacks a couple of features that are now standard in almost all holiday rentals-WIFI whether free or for a fee and a coffee machine.
    Several years ago I filled in a similar survey and pointed out that most of the windows do not have window locks. This has not been rectified.
    It was good to see that linen is now provided free of charge.
    For those unfamiliar with the area it would be good to stress that the key access container is on the Newcastle side of Nelson Bay.

      Thank you for your feedback, we will certainly communicate with the owner regarding the purchase of a coffee machine and WIFI. We will notify our maintenance team regarding the window locks. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. The key hub is out of action till further notice so please pick up & drop all keys to the Nelson Bay office.
